Double the Fun!

We had our sonogram on August 22 and found out we are having TWINS!!!!! We were sort of prepared to hear it was twins, but it was still such a great surprise! Mike could tell right away there were two on the screen! The ultrasound tech said, " Yep, it looks like there are two in there, you are having twins!" She countinued to do more measurements and then asked if we wanted to know the sex. We said, "Yes, of course!" and she idetified Baby A as a boy and then Baby B as a boy. The then told us they would be identical since they share the same placenta. We were very excited to hear the news, we laughed and cried and stared at the screen. She continuted to take more measurements and we watched the screen as Baby B couldn't stop moving and jumping on Baby A's head. Baby A seemed pretty melo and moved a little near then end when he got tired of tolerating Baby B's behavior. Once she had taken all the measurement she needed, the sonogram was complete and we were sent to talk with our Dr.

While we waited we send messages to work and friends and just kept saying to each other that we couldn' believe it! We kept thinking of all the things we would need and how exciting our lives are going to become! Dr. Heurter came in and told us congrats and then let us know she was referring us to Dr. Durland. It was very short and fast, we sort of staggered out of the office super excited and nervous.

Everyone wants to know if we have a history of twins in our families, YES! Allison's Mom is a twin, Allison's Dad's brother and sister were twins and Mike's Mom is a twin. All that twin history did not matter in this instance, idential twins are not genetic, they just happen!
